Detailed Itinerary of the 5 Days Gorillas and Murchison Falls Safari
Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Begin your safari with an early morning pick-up from Kampala or Entebbe. You will drive southwest toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a journey of approximately 8-9 hours (500 km). Along the way, enjoy scenic views of the rolling hills, lush vegetation, and terraced farms of western Uganda. Stop at the Equator for a photo opportunity and visit local craft shops.
You’ll arrive in Bwindi by evening, settle into your lodge, and enjoy dinner while preparing for the thrilling gorilla trekking experience the next day.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
Wake up early and enjoy a hearty breakfast before heading to the park headquarters for a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. You’ll then embark on your gorilla trekking adventure, navigating through dense jungle terrain in search of a habituated gorilla family. The trek can take between 1 to 6 hours depending on the gorilla location, and you’ll have one magical hour observing and photographing these majestic creatures in their natural habitat.
After the trek, return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, you may choose to visit the Batwa pygmy community to learn about their rich culture and history as forest dwellers.

Day 3: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast, depart from Bwindi for the long journey to Murchison Falls National Park in northern Uganda, taking approximately 10-11 hours (600 km). The drive is scenic, passing through picturesque towns and rural villages. You’ll stop for lunch en route and arrive at the park by evening.
Check into your lodge, enjoy dinner, and rest in preparation for the exciting game drives and boat cruises planned for the next day.

Day 4: Game Drive and Boat Cruise in Murchison Falls National Park

After the boat cruise, you can opt for a short hike to the top of Murchison Falls, where you’ll witness the Nile River squeezing through a 7-meter-wide gorge and plunging 43 meters down with thunderous force.

Day 5: Transfer Back to Kampala / Entebbe

You’ll arrive in Kampala or Entebbe in the late afternoon, marking the end of your incredible 5-day adventure.
