Book Your Permit in Advance
Gorilla trekking permits are limited and highly sought after, especially in peak seasons (June–September and December–February). Book at least 3–6 months ahead to ensure availability.
Age Limit for Gorilla Trekking
Trekkers must be at least 15 years old — a rule in place to ensure the safety of both visitors and gorillas, since younger children may struggle with the trek's physical demands.
Physical Fitness Requirements
Expect steep slopes, dense forest, and muddy trails for several hours. Prepare with regular cardio, leg-strengthening exercises, and long practice walks in the weeks before your trip.
